Therapy FAQ’s

  • You will be a good fit for therapy with me if you are moving through a life transition (e.g. college, move, relationship beginning or ending, family growth, career change), or if you are experiencing distress and would like to find clarity and confidence in making a decision, finding peace, or feeling at ease in life.

    I have experience working with trauma, complex trauma, addiction, depression, anxiety, family systems and gender non-conforming / non-binary individuals.

  • Each therapeutic experience will be different. For most individuals, things often feel harder or more intense before they resolve. Sometimes I see folks for three months and sometimes I see folks for three years. My goal is for you to not need me, however I will remain available for tune-ups always.

  • Many people find it helpful to have a goal or "issue" in mind for session, but it's also okay to just show up as you are. It's my job to help you navigate life towards achieving your goal.

  • Of course.

  • Absolutely. What's really important in therapy is a great client-therapist alliance. If for whatever reason this isn't the case, ask me for a referral... or three.

  • Sometimes this happens. We dive really deep into therapeutic work and don't take enough time to transition out of therapy and into the "real world." Tell your therapist if this happens, they can spend more time on containment at the end of the session.

  • Yes. With a signed Release of Information, I will talk to other providers.
